Service Description

Learn some more advanced steps, concepts, and techniques to these fun iconic social dances in the heart of Downtown Lexington at the Center of Gravity Yoga & Pilates Studio. We will jam to classic and current up tempo beats that will have us enjoying ourselves while we become fitter, work together with some nice folks, and learn to take your dancing to the next level after beginner. We will assume you have taken our beginner classes in most (you don’t need them all) of these dances, or that you have some experience in these dances from another source. The main point as always will be to have fun while we challenge ourselves to learn some new stuff! Since these are partner dances you will make the most progress if you come with a partner (gender is not relevant). We will continue to teach the basic principles on both how to lead and follow, and we will also introduce some more advanced techniques and patterns which will add spice and variety to your dancing. Comfortable shoes with non-stick soles (rubber athletic shoes will grab to the wood floor and not allow you to slide and spin properly) and clothes that are comfy and cool when you are moving will be best. Please remember that we will be on our feet for an hour moving to up tempo dance music. Be sure you feel physically able, so you can really enjoy the entire experience. Limit: 12 couples
